The intention of these classes is for students that show both the physical potential and mental aptitude to work towards the Vocational Examinations of the Royal Academy of Dance, so that they will have the correct internationally recognised qualifications should they wish to consider a career in dance. Hence we invite students to join these classes as we do not wish to create false hope to achieve an exam that may be unachievable. Our students partake in these classes because they may be considering a career in dance or just enjoy the challenge.
Intermediate Foundation we normally invite students that are grade 4/ 5 Ballet and are 9 years to 13 years old.
Intermediate students would be grade 5/6 and are 14 years plus.
The standard required to be successful in these examinations is very high, they are the same examinations studied by students attending full-time vocational schools. We, therefore, encourage our vocational students to attend workshops, holiday courses and performance opportunities which the school provides, when possible. Your normal ballet classes must be kept up. All dance classes attended must be exclusive with Geraldine Lamb Dance school. (Certain associate classes may be attended such as Royal Ballet School associates, Ballet Boost, Tap Attack).
Vocational classes take place on a Friday evening. You may also like the Contemporary group and Body conditioning that take place during the same evening. Also Progressing Ballet Technique on a Thursday is a valuable strengthening program that compliments vocational ballet.
